This is a talk worth watching and thinking about. I think we all know how positive and negative thoughts, emotions, actions and experiences affect our physical wellbeing; what Rankin highlights is how massive what she identifies as the placebo and nocebo effects really are. We spend a lot of time and energy trying to change ourselves and our world at the material level but it is change at more fundamental levels of being that are likely to be most powerful.

Accessing fundamental levels of being means meditation or approaching what we do meditatively. I think that whatever we do can be meditative but most of us will need the discipline of more formal meditation in order to train the mind to enter more meditative states.
